Semi-detached house in Isleworth, West London

Ravi asked us to carry out a measured survey and existing drawings for a standard three-bed semi in Isleworth. The scope included:

  • Existing floor plans
  • Elevations
  • Roof plan
  • One section

He queried the initial quote, as he saw it as a “standard” semi. We explained that the price also covered the garage and a large ground floor extension, which makes the drawing work more involved than a simple box. Even so, we revised the quotation slightly as a goodwill gesture and sent a clearer breakdown so expectations were aligned before we started.

Once Ravi confirmed he wanted to go ahead, we:

  • Booked the survey for a Tuesday afternoon slot
  • Issued the invoice and confirmed that payment would secure the survey
  • Let him know we were busy but still aiming to hit the turnaround he needed

How we did the survey

On the day, our surveyor (Mustafa) visited the property and used:

  • A Disto laser for all internal and external measurements
  • A structured room-by-room method to avoid gaps or overlaps
  • Site photos to capture corners, junctions and roof details
  • A 3D internal scan to support later checks and give Ravi a visual record

This allowed us to pick up:

  • The full footprint of the house, including the extension
  • Heights and key features needed for the roof plan and section
  • Enough detail for Ravi’s team to design off the drawings without re-measuring

Drawing production and QA

Back in the office, we built the CAD model from the survey data and produced:

  • Existing plans (all levels required)
  • Elevations
  • Roof plan
  • A section through the key part of the house

We then ran an internal quality check to make sure:

  • Plans, elevations and section all matched each other
  • Dimensions and relationships made sense for a standard semi with extension
  • The DWG was set up in 1:1 metric scale so Ravi’s team could drop it straight into their own workflow

Once we were happy with the checks, we sent Ravi a draft drawings pack by the agreed deadline, so his team could start their work while we waited on the final payment.

Final delivery

After Ravi confirmed the remaining payment, we released:

  • Final DWG file
  • Final PDF drawings (plans, elevations, roof plan and section)
  • A 3D scan link for the property
  • A payment receipt and download link for all files

Ravi now has a clean, well-coordinated survey pack and 3D scan for a “standard” semi that still captures all the added complexity of the extension and garage, ready for design and planning use.re and after the front extension, backed by accurate survey data and a 3D record of the interior.
