The Challenge

The client needed a measured survey and an existing drawing set for a residential property in Market Harborough. The required scope included ground and first floor plans, all four external elevations, and an outline section.

A key constraint was coordinating access and confirming a suitable survey slot, with a specific arrival window agreed in advance. The drawings also needed to be delivered in formats suitable for the client’s workflow so they could start work on the project without delays once the drawing pack was issued.

Our Solution

PlanCraftDaily scheduled the measured survey for Tuesday 29th July with a confirmed arrival time between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, ensuring the visit could proceed smoothly. Following the site visit, we produced a draft drawing pack for review and issued the full set of existing drawings based on the measured information captured on site.

The final deliverables were provided as a complete drawings pack, including CAD and PDF outputs, alongside site photographs. This ensured the client had both the editable CAD format for onward design work and a clean PDF set for coordination and sharing.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access
We confirmed the requested deliverables for the property: ground and first floor plans, four external elevations, and an outline section. We also agreed the preferred survey timing and confirmed the site appointment window so access and attendance were clear before booking.
On-Site Survey
A survey visit was scheduled for Tuesday 29th July, with a confirmed arrival time between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The client received the surveyor’s details in advance, helping the visit run smoothly and ensuring expectations were aligned for access.
Cross-Checking Before Leaving
Our surveyor attended site and captured measured information needed to produce accurate existing drawings, aligned to the agreed scope. This measurement formed the basis for plans, elevations, and the outline section, ensuring consistency across the full drawing set.
Turning Survey into Plans and Elevations
We produced a draft drawings pack and issued it for review once the drawing production stage was complete. This allowed the client to check the set prior to final release, ensuring the output matched the requested scope and was ready for onward use.
Draft Review and Final Handover
Following review, we issued the final drawing pack and related files, including CAD (DWG), PDFs, and site photographs. This provided a complete handover package suitable for onward design coordination, sharing with other parties, and starting work on the project.
