Residential Measured Survey & Existing Drawings in KT8

Results at a Glance

Survey visit scheduled to match a tight availability window.

Existing drawing pack produced for a loft conversion and internal alterations.

Clear set of floor plans (including roof level), elevations and a section issued for review.

Final deliverables prepared in CAD and PDF formats with supporting site photographs.

The Challenge

The client needed a measured survey and an existing drawing set for a residential property in KT8 to support a loft conversion, along with minor internal ground floor alterations/opening up. The key challenge was coordinating access around limited on-site availability, including a short afternoon window and the requirement for the occupants to leave briefly for school pick-up.

A second constraint was diary pressure on both sides. Initial date options shifted due to bookings, and the final visit time had to work around another appointment on the same day. Once the survey slot was confirmed, the focus moved to producing a consistent “existing” package that the wider design team could use as a reliable base for the next stage of work.

Our Solution

We confirmed the survey requirements and arranged an on-site measured visit with an agreed arrival window. To keep coordination smooth, we shared the surveyor’s contact details in advance and asked who would be present on the day so any last-minute access updates could be handled quickly.

Following the site visit, we converted the measured information into an existing drawing pack. The agreed scope included floor plans with roof level (three plans), front and rear elevations, and one section—providing the core as-built information needed to progress a loft conversion design and internal layout changes. Draft drawings were issued first for review, then readied for final handover in the required formats.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access
We confirmed the property address and clarified what the drawings were needed for: a loft conversion with minor internal ground floor alterations/opening up. We agreed the “existing” package scope, including floor plans with roof level, front and rear elevations, and a single section.
On-Site Survey
We offered survey date options and aligned the appointment to the client’s availability window. Access details were coordinated in advance, including who would be on site and a direct point of contact for the day, helping keep the visit on track despite a tight afternoon schedule.
Cross-Checking Before Leaving
Our surveyor attended site within the agreed arrival window and completed the measured survey of the property. The visit captured the information needed to produce an accurate existing drawing base for design development, with photographs taken to support drafting and coordination.
Turning Survey into Plans and Elevations
We converted the measured site information into CAD drawings and assembled the agreed existing set: roof-inclusive floor plans, front and rear elevations, and one section. A draft pack was issued first to allow review and identify any required clarifications before final preparation.
Draft Review and Final Handover
Following review, we prepared the final drawing pack for handover in CAD (DWG) and PDF formats, alongside the supporting site photographs. The client received a clean, consistent set of existing drawings to use as the base for the loft conversion and internal alteration work.

Results & Impact

The project concluded with an existing drawing pack suitable for design development, giving the client a measured baseline for the loft conversion and internal alterations. The deliverables covered the key views needed for coordination—plans, elevations and a section—supplied in CAD and PDF formats alongside site photographs so the wider team could move forward with confidence.
