The Challenge

The client needed a measured survey and a set of existing drawings for a property in Tring, covering the ground and first floor and three elevations. The request came with a tight scheduling requirement, as access depended on the client’s availability across two possible weeks.

The key challenge was confirming a workable attendance slot within the client’s windows and then moving quickly from site capture to a draft drawing issue. The client also requested clarity on what was included in the scope (ground/first floor and elevations), with optional additions discussed separately.

Our Solution

PlanCraftDaily coordinated access and confirmed an on-site attendance time that aligned with the client’s preferred day and arrival window. Once the appointment was agreed, the survey went ahead smoothly and the project moved directly into drawing production.

Following the site visit, we prepared a draft drawings pack for review. This draft issue enabled the client to check the measured layouts and elevations and flag any amendments before final issue. The workflow kept the project structured and clear: schedule the survey, capture site measurements, convert to CAD drawings, then issue a draft pack for review prior to final delivery.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access
We confirmed the requested scope (ground and first floor plans plus three elevations) and collected the client’s available access windows. This allowed us to propose workable attendance options and keep the project moving without delays caused by access constraints.
On-Site Survey
A suitable appointment was agreed, including a clear arrival window. Once the date and time were confirmed with the client, the survey booking was locked in and the project timeline moved into the on-site measurement stage.
Cross-Checking Before Leaving
Our surveyor attended site and completed the measured survey. Measurements were captured for the required floors and elevations, and the visit was reported as having gone smoothly, enabling immediate progression into the drawing stage.
Turning Survey into Plans and Elevations
Survey data was converted into CAD drawings and compiled into a draft drawing pack. This draft issue was shared for review so the client could verify key details and request any amendments before moving to final issue.
Draft Review and Final Handover
We requested confirmation on the draft pack and followed up for feedback. Final deliverables (CAD, PDFs, and photographs) were planned for release once the client confirmed the draft drawings were approved. Any requested revisions would be incorporated at this stage.
