The Challenge

The client needed a measured survey and an existing drawing set for a residential property in KT8 to support a loft conversion, along with minor internal ground floor alterations/opening up. The key challenge was coordinating access around limited on-site availability, including a short afternoon window and the requirement for the occupants to leave briefly for school pick-up.

A second constraint was diary pressure on both sides. Initial date options shifted due to bookings, and the final visit time had to work around another appointment on the same day. Once the survey slot was confirmed, the focus moved to producing a consistent “existing” package that the wider design team could use as a reliable base for the next stage of work.

We confirmed the survey requirements and arranged an on-site measured visit with an agreed arrival window. To keep coordination smooth, we shared the surveyor’s contact details in advance and asked who would be present on the day so any last-minute access updates could be handled quickly.

Draft drawings were issued first for review, then readied for final handover in the required formats.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access

We confirmed the property address and clarified what the drawings were needed for: a loft conversion with minor internal ground floor alterations/opening up. We agreed the “existing” package scope, including floor plans with roof level, front and rear elevations, and a single section.

On-Site Survey
