Residential Measured Building Survey & Existing Drawings — SW16, South London

PROJECT BRIEF

The client needed a measured building survey and existing (as-built) drawings for a residential property in SW16, including all floor plans, elevations, and at least one section.

The scope also required external elements to be captured, with the garage included as part of the external information rather than a fully detailed internal set. As with many occupied homes, the work needed clear coordination for access and a defined survey appointment so the site team could capture the required measurements efficiently.

WORK COMPLETED

We confirmed the drawing requirements upfront (floor plans including roof, front/rear/side elevations, and one section) and arranged the site visit with the assigned surveyor. The measured survey was carried out on site to capture the geometry needed for accurate as-built drawings.

Following the survey, we produced a draft drawing pack for review. After confirmation, we finalised and issued the completed drawing set, including CAD and PDF formats alongside site photographs, so the client had both editable files and shareable documents for the next stage of their project.

Completed measured survey and produced a coordinated existing drawings pack.

Issued measured floor plans including roof level (3 plans).

Delivered front, rear and side elevations aligned to the survey.

OUTCOME

The client received a complete existing drawings package for the SW16 property: measured floor plans (including roof), coordinated elevations, and a section, supported by site photographs. The garage was captured as part of the external elements as agreed, keeping the deliverables aligned with the requested scope and ready for onward design or submission use.

STEPS

01.

Brief and scope confirmation

We confirmed the required deliverables for the SW16 property, including measured floor plans (with roof), elevations, and a section. We also clarified how external elements should be represented, with the garage included as part of the external information. This ensured a clear, survey-led scope.

02.

Scheduling and access coordination

A survey slot was arranged and the assigned surveyor’s details were provided to support access planning. Clear scheduling helped ensure the site visit could be completed efficiently and that the survey capture matched the agreed scope for internal spaces and external context.

03.

Measured building survey on site

Our surveyor carried out the measured building survey at the property, capturing the dimensions and relationships needed to produce accurate as-built drawings. This included measurement data to support the full set of plans, elevations, and the required section, plus external elements.

04.

Draft drawings pack and review

We produced a draft existing drawings pack and issued it for review. This step allowed the client to check that the outputs matched the requested layout, elevations, and section coverage before we moved to finalisation, reducing the risk of late-stage changes.
