The Challenge

The client needed a complete set of existing (as-built) drawings for a residential property in Chessington to support an extension and loft conversion. The requested pack included measured floor plans, a roof plan, elevations, a section, and site/location plans, all required in AutoCAD format.

Early on, the scope needed clarifying—specifically whether the rear outbuilding/garage should be surveyed. The client confirmed it was not required because the planned works were focused on the main house. The project also required coordinating a suitable survey appointment and producing drawings in a format that could be shared with the wider project team.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access

We confirmed the client’s required existing drawing deliverables for an extension and loft conversion project, including plans, roof plan, elevations, section, and site/location plans. We also clarified whether the rear outbuilding/garage was to be included, and agreed the survey would focus on the main house only.

On-Site Survey

A survey appointment was arranged with an agreed arrival window to suit the client. Surveyor details were provided in advance, ensuring the client knew who would attend and when. This allowed the site visit to proceed smoothly and ensured access could be prepared ahead of time.

Cross-Checking Before Leaving

Turning Survey into Plans and Elevations

Draft Review and Final Handover

After the draft review stage, we issued the final drawing pack, including the CAD (DWG) files and PDF drawings, alongside site photographs.
