Existing Elevation & Section Drawings — SE12, South East London

Results at a Glance

Survey visit completed with confirmed access and on-site point of contact.

Existing rear elevation produced with window positions captured.

Full-height section created through the building from front to back.

Final drawing set issued in DWG, PDF, with site photographs.

The Challenge

The client needed existing drawings limited to a rear elevation and a full-height section through the building from front to back. The scope evolved during early coordination, with the request refined to focus on the elevation and section outputs required for the next design stage.

A key constraint was arranging reliable access to an unoccupied property and confirming a suitable survey slot and arrival window. The client also supplied supporting site photos to help contextualise the rear façade and reduce uncertainty before attending site.

Our Solution

PlanCraftDaily confirmed the survey requirements and ensured full access was available to capture accurate overall heights for the section. A survey visit was scheduled with a clear arrival window and a named surveyor, with the client acting as the on-site contact to streamline entry and handover.

Following the site visit, we prepared a draft drawing pack for review to confirm the rear elevation and the full-height section met expectations. Once feedback was cleared, we issued the final drawing set and associated project files, including CAD, PDFs, and site photographs.

The Process

Agreeing Scope, Fee and Friday Access
We confirmed the requested outputs and refined the scope to the essential existing drawings: a rear elevation and a full-height section through the building. Early messages clarified access requirements and the need to capture building heights accurately to support the section drawing.
On-Site Survey
A survey slot was arranged with a clear arrival window, and a named surveyor was assigned. The client confirmed the property was unoccupied and organised keys and entry, acting as the point of contact to ensure smooth access on the day.
Cross-Checking Before Leaving
The surveyor attended site and recorded the measurements needed to produce the rear elevation and front-to-back section, including key heights and opening positions. Site context was supported by the client’s reference photos to help validate and communicate conditions.
Turning Survey into Plans and Elevations
Using the site measurements, we drafted the rear elevation and full-height section and compiled a draft drawing pack for review. This stage ensured the drawing content, layout, and captured details matched the client’s expectations before finalising the outputs.
Draft Review and Final Handover
After the draft review stage, we issued the final drawing set and project files. The handover included CAD (DWG), PDFs, and site photographs, providing a clear record of the existing condition suitable for onward coordination and design development.

Results & Impact

The project concluded with a complete existing drawing package focused on the rear elevation and a front-to-back full-height section. Drafts were shared first for review, then final files were issued, including DWG CAD, PDFs, and site photographs—supporting onward design coordination with clear, measured information.
